Artist's Comments

sometimes the alcohol or drugs are the mate of many people,
the only mate,

not very often we asked:

are you ok?

you need something?

very often this people only need a word, hug, a kiss, a friend . . .

never one dolar.

/* pa'la raza

por ahí dicen que mas vale
un BORACHO FAMOSO que
un ALCOHOLICO ANONIMO

*/

esto lo leí en la chamarra de
un vato punk!

si tienes algo que decir.. gritalo!

And you do it once again, dear friend. Excellent shot, emotion, thoughtful description...all in the same piece. Excellent...you are a constant amazement :) (Smile)

Hah, brings back some unpleasant memories... but this is a great shot nonetheless. Love the way you've composed it. :) (Smile)

Wasted! Tequila kills, almost worse than smoking.. :( (Sad) Nice concept. But I think, in order to enhance the downside of alcohol and the negative feeling, you could have played with contrast/brightness to make it look darker. Nod

this means a lot to me my dear...

i have a sweet story to tell of many years ago back in canada

and a man called larry.

he was at the bus stop every day, on my way to work, asking for a quarter.

i'd never give him one, rather i'd sometimes bring him a coffee instead

from the café that i would stop off in between stops, to sit back and write.

one day, he went for a coffee with me.

and we talked briefly, amongst strange stares and glares from others.

i never saw him after that.

and one day, just shortly before i left for europe

the waitress brought me a coffee, slipped me a note and said it was paid for.

it was from larry. a thank you card and he was back in school

at the age of 42.

i never thought that one kind gesture was the reason,

but i've never forgotten larry since.

sorry, but you just reminded me of that once upon a time ago...

You have truly moved me. I have had many alcoholics in my life. I wish it were that simple.

Exactamente como sentí toda el fin de semana.
Perdido en el alcohol cual demente.

Cheves a la noche?
